Why choose clear aligners?
Invisalign and Spark aligners are both transparent aligners designed to straighten your teeth.
They’re hard to see once they’re in, so you don’t need to worry about people knowing about your treatment journey. They work to gently move your teeth into place and can achieve brilliant results.

How do clear aligners work?
Clear aligners like Invisalign and Spark work by gradually repositioning your teeth to make them straighter. Made from BPA-free transparent plastic, the aligners apply gentle pressure to straighten your teeth.
Usually, you’ll wear each set of aligners for two weeks before changing them for the next set. Each set moves your teeth a little bit more towards your goal. They’re designed to be worn all the time, apart from when you’re eating or drinking, and it usually takes somewhere between 9-18 months to achieve the desired results.
Inman aligners are a great option if you only need your front teeth straightened and if you need them done more quickly (they’re ideal if only a couple of your front teeth are twisted or wonky).
The aligners are mostly clear with a set of nickel springs that gently push your front teeth into place. As with Invisalign and Spark aligners, you’ll need to wear them for most of the day, except when eating, drinking or brushing your teeth. But unlike the other options, you’ll only need one set of Inman aligners which you’ll wear throughout your entire treatment.
Depending on how many teeth need straightening and by how much, your treatment with Inman aligners will likely be done within 6-18 weeks.

Clear aligners
Are clear aligners right for me?
If you’d like straighter teeth without having fixed braces, clear aligners are a great option. Discreet and gentle, they’re popular with our Sheffield patients because they don’t impact their daily lives.Your dentist can go through the options during your free consultation and let you know which type of aligners would be best for you.
Do I have to wear the aligners all the time?
For the best possible results, we’d recommend you keep your aligners in all the time, except when you’re eating, drinking or cleaning your teeth. You should aim to wear them for at least 22 hours a day.
How long do Invisalign or Spark Aligners take to straighten teeth?
It depends on your mouth and your goals, but it will take an average of 9 - 18 months to straighten your teeth with Invisalign or Spark Aligners. Your dentist will give you a more accurate timeframe.
How long do Inman Aligners take to straighten your teeth?
Inman Aligners are usually used if you’ve got minor wonkiness in your front teeth or only a couple of teeth need adjusting. Because of this, it’s a quicker process and generally takes 6 -18 weeks. Your dentist can give you a more accurate timeframe.
Do clear aligners hurt?
Clear aligners are designed to move your teeth gently and gradually, so you shouldn’t experience much pain. A little bit of aching is quite common when you first start wearing your aligners or when you change to a new tray of Invisalign or Spark Aligners. Usually, you can get rid of the discomfort with things like paracetamol.
